Do you want to be baptized? If so say, “I do.”

Do you renounce the claims of suffering, regret, shame, and death to define you? If so say, “I do.”

Do you renounce the claims of the dominant ways of the world to define you? If so say, “I do.”

Do you accept God’s invitation into the story of Jesus and the family of the Body of Christ? If so say, “I do.”

The baptism (flow of water or sign of the cross)
N., I baptize you in the Name of the Father, and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit. (Amen.) |or| N., I baptize you in the Name of the Creator God, and of the Redeemer Jesus, and of the Sustainer Spirit. (Amen.)

- pray for God’s help in what’s hard or scary,
- call this church part of your family,
- and accept God’s invitation into Jesus’ story.
